Hormetrix is a Singapore venture in formation, developing hormone sensing for Asia-Pacific. We bring materials engineering and biosensing research into the same product programme.
Why we exist
A prototype is the beginning of product development.
Manufacturability, shelf life, cost per usable test and clinical performance all shape whether a promising sensor becomes a useful product. Our programme addresses these questions through defined evidence gates.
Two 2026 peer-reviewed papers from the founding scientific team provide the research basis. Company formation and arrangements for background intellectual property are part of the development programme.

Founders
Ahmad Rezaei
Co-founderMaterials and polymer science. Leads the sensing-material work and the path from laboratory chemistry to a manufacturable consumable. Based in Singapore.
Amir Sanati Nezhad
Co-founderProfessor at the University of Calgary and a corresponding author on the underlying publications. Brings expertise in biosensing and microfluidics to the scientific programme.
How we work
Three commitments we intend to be held to.
Publish first, claim second
Our foundations are in the peer-reviewed literature, and we would rather point to a paper than to a brochure. Where we do not yet have data, we say so.
Measurements with context
A numerical result is useful only when its uncertainty, sampling conditions and intended use are clear. We plan to assess those together.
Cost is a design requirement
Affordability depends on manufacturing yield, quality control and the complete workflow. We design around cost per usable measurement.
Where we are
Singapore, deliberately.
Singapore puts a medical-device company inside reach of a dense research base, a serious precision-manufacturing sector, a regulator with a clear pathway, and the Asia-Pacific markets we are building for.
It is also a place where a deep-tech company can find clinical collaborators and translational support without leaving the city.
